Santa Barbara’s King and Oxnard’s McClurkin Own WSC North Women’s Top Honors

Santa Barbara City College 5’10 freshman wing Destinee King was named the Western State Conference North Division Player of the Year this past weekend. In addition, Oxnard College Head Coach Ron McClurkin was tabbed as the WSC North Coach of the Year.

Canyons Women’s Basketball Takes Both Top Awards in WSC South

College of the Canyons sophomore forward Hannah Green was named the WSC South Player of the Year this past weekend, while her Head Coach Greg Herrick was named the WSC South Coach of the Year. Green is the 11th College of the Canyons player to earn the top award, while Herrick is taking home his ninth nod.

Pirates Make it 26 Straight

The Ventura College Women’s Basketball team kept one of the longest active conference championship streaks running recently when they clinched their 26th straight WSC North Championship. The Pirates recently clinched the 26th title with a 69-32 victory at Allan Hancock College.

Canyons Clinches 15th WSC South Title

The College of the Canyons Women’s Basketball program clinched their 15th overall WSC South title on Saturday night with a 85-70 victory at West Los Angeles College. The Cougars did so with two games remained on their 2015-2016 regular schedule.
