VC’s Karen and Koyanagi Dominate WSC Individual Championships
Ventura College’s Corey Karen and Hironori Koyanagi dominated the Western State Conference Men’s Tennis individual championships as the duo squared off in the singles final, before teaming up to win the doubles title for the second straight season.
Ventura College's Corey Karen and Hironori Koyanagi dominated the Western State Conference Men's Tennis individual championships as the duo squared off in the singles final, before teaming up to win the doubles title for the second straight season.
Koyanagi in particular enjoyed an impressive weekend repeating as the winner in both the singles and doubles championships. Koyanagi defeated teammate Karen for the second consecutive year, beating him 6-0 and 6-2. In the doubles championship Karen and Koyanagi beat teammates Michael Burr and Guenter Newman 6-4 and 6-1 for the repeat. Karen and Koyanagi defeated Burr and Newman in the 2015 doubles championship as well.
