Long Beach Advances to Semi-Finals; El Camino Falls in Five Sets
The Long Beach City College Men’s Volleyball team advanced to the CCCAA State Semi-Finals on Tuesday evening with a straight set sweep of Orange Coast College. The WSC’s other representative in the quarterfinals, El Camino College, was knocked out in the opening round, falling in a hard fought five sets to Golden West College.

With the win, the Vikings have earned the right to take on Grossmont College of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. The Griffins were the champions of the PCAC and the top seed in the post-season, earning a bye in the quarterfinals. Golden West meanwhile advanced to the semi-finals where they will take on the Western State Conference Champion Los Angeles Pierce College, who was also on a bye in the quarterfinal round.
Those matches are set to take place at Long Beach City College on Thursday evening. Long Beach will play at 7:30 PM, while Pierce will play at 5:00 PM.
