Archambeau, Casanova, and Minor Share POY Honors, While Blair Wins 7th COY Honor
The Western State Conference North Division honors were announced late Sunday afternoon. Los Angeles Pierce College’s Trey Archambeau, Cuesta College’s Rafael Casanova, and Allan Hancock College’s Kadeem Minor all took home Player of the Year nods. Cuesta College Head Coach Rusty Blair was also honored, being named the Western State Conference North Division Coach of the Year for the 7th time.

Los Angeles Pierce College's Trey Archambeau, Cuesta College's Rafael Casanova, and Allan Hancock College's Kadeem Minor all took home Player of the Year nods. Archambeau appeared in 18 games for the Brahmas during the 2014-2015 season, totaling 15 starts. He averaged 13 points, and 5.9 boards a game on 54.2% shooting from the floor. His field goal percentage was the 5th best mark in the entire WSC. In WSC North play, Archambeau upped his totals, averaging 13.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks a contest. The 6'7 sophomore post player, prepped at Chattahoochie High School in Johns Creek, Georgia.
Casanova meanwhile appeared in and started all 28 games for the Cougars in 2014-2015. He averaged 17.8 points a game overall on 47.7% shooting from the field and 41.8% shooting from three. Casanova also averaged 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.4 steals a game for Cuesta. He was 5th in the entire WSC in scoring and 7th in the WSC in 3-point percentage. The 6'5 sophomore guard hails from Seville, Spain where he attended IES Caura High School.
Minor was a steady hand for the Bulldogs all season long, appearing in 25 contests with 22 starts. He averaged 10.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game on the season. In WSC North action, Minor rose to the occasion, averaging 12.8 points and 6.8 boards a contest. The 6'1 sophomore guard prepped at Foothill High School near his hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Blair helped guide the Cougars to a 19-9 overall record and 9-3 mark in WSC North action. The Cougars won their second straight WSC North title and their third in four years in 2015. It was the 10th overall conference championship for Cuesta College.
