Ventura, Calif. - The Santa Barbara City College women's water polo took home its 11th-straight Western State Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon, defeating Cuesta, 20-7.
Freshman Sophie McGehee led all scorers with four goals, while freshman Katie Strohl tallied three goals and four assists. Freshman Avery Jensen chipped in three goals of her own.
Jensen scored the go-ahead goal in at the 6:13 mark in the second quarter, her second of the game, as the Vaqueros held the Cougars to just three goals in the first half while counting 11.
Barclay earned the complete-game win with 12 saves in goal to add to her three assists.
Tristen Bettencourt and Ameila Braun each had two goals for Cuesta.
SBCC will await its next opponent in the SoCal Regionals. Regional play begins on Thursday, Nov. 13.
