Natarajan, Gutierrez Sweep 5CTCA SoCal Runner of the Week Honors
Sacramento, Calif. - Moorpark College's sophomore Maya Natarajan and Allan Hancock College's sophomore John Gutierrez are the 5CTCA SoCal Runners of the Week for Week No. 4, announced Tuesday.
Natarajan, who finished 16th at the 3C2A Championships last year, took the Women's 5k Open title at the UC Riverside Invitational last week in a time of 17:35. Her time was six seconds faster than fellow Runner of the Week recipient, Jadeyn Skefich, of El Camino College.
After a runner-up finish at state last year and winning the Tour de Cuesta and Bulldogs Invitational earlier this season, Gutierrez ran the third-fastest time for a community college male competitor at the UC Riverside Invitational last week in a time of 25:04 on the 8k course.
