Padia, Perry Tabbed CCCWVCA State Players of the Week
Sacramento, Calif. - Santa Barbara City College's Bayley Padia and LA Mission College's Madison "Maddie" Perry have been tabbed CCCWVCA State Players of the Week, announced Monday.
The Western State North Division outside hitters captured the second and third honors for the WSC this season, respectively, joining Santa Barbara City's middle blocker Hazel Irvine, who garnered the honor in week 2.
In week four, sophomore Padia tallied 30 kills, 17 digs, and five aces over the No. 13 Vaqueros' three wins last week. She led the squad to a sweep over No. 9 Pasadena, amassing 11 kills, hitting .333 with nine digs, and three aces. Her all-around play has boosted SBCC to an 8-0 start to the 2025 season, averaging 3.08 kills and 2.2 digs per set.
In her rookie season, Perry has led the No. 5 Eagles to a perfect 12-0 record to start the 2025 campaign, averaging 3.6 kills per set. Last week she racked up 38 total kills over three matches, hitting .353. Against Cerritos, she was errorless, hitting .521 with 12 kills, and quickly followed it up with 15 kills against Reedley.
Padia and Perry are joined this week by Modesto Junior College's libero Teygan Horstmeier.
