Moorpark Sweeps Men's and Women's Cross Country Titles; Natarajan and Greenelsh Take Individual Honors
Moorpark, Calif. - The Moorpark College men's and women's cross country teams captured the 2025 Western State Cross Country titles, while Moorpark's sophomore Maya Natarajan and Cuesta's sophomore Weston Greenelsh took the individual honors on Friday morning at Arroyo Vista Park.
The Raiders scored identical team scores of 44 with sophomore Tommy White finishing second on the men's side in a time of 20:34.6, just edged by Greenelsh's top time of 20:32.3 on the 4-mile course. Natarajan cruised to first place on the women's side, finishing the 3,000-meter course in 18:08.6, well ahead of runner-up Brianna Richards (Ventura), who finished in 18:31.3.
In the women's team scores, Canyons (72) and Bakersfield (92) rounded out the top three teams, while on the men's side, it was a tight race for second and third with Cuesta edging Bakersfield, 88 to 89, respectively.
Western State cross country teams have a short break before heading to the SoCal Championships on Friday, Nov. 7. The races will be hosted by San Diego Mesa and held at NTC Park with the women's race beginning at 10 a.m. with the men's race to follow at 11 a.m.
