McDonald Named CCCBCA Player of the Week
Bakersfield freshman rightfielder and reigning WSC Baseball Athlete of the Month Landon McDonald was named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) SoCal Player of the Week for Week No. 4 (Feb. 9-15), announced Wednesday.
McDonald went 9-for-16 (.563) last week with six of his hits coming in extra base hits with two doubles, triple, and three home runs. He drew four walks, while tallying seven RBI. He hit two homers against Taft in the week's slate finale.
Overall, McDonald currently leads the state in batting average (.550), slugging percentage (1.225), and extra base hits (13).
McDonald is joined by Chaffey's freshman righty pitcher Trevor Young, who was named SoCal Pitcher of the Week.
