Reyes Collects Pitcher of the Week Honor
LA Mission sophomore righthanded pitcher Uriel Reyes collected California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) SoCal Pitcher of the Week honors for Week No. 6 (Feb. 23-29), announced Wednesday.
In week six, Reyes picked up his first win of the season, tossing a complete-game shutout at San Diego City. Reyes scattered five hits while fanning seven en route to the 11-0 victory. He retired the side in order in five innings and threw inning-ending double-play pitches in three innings. Overall, he's averaging 6.75 strikeouts per game in his 28.0 innings pitched.
Reyes is joined by Cypress College's first baseman Justin Tillar, who was named SoCal Pitcher of the Week.
