Los Angeles Pierce College sophomore setter Peyton Moyles was named the Western State Conference East Division Player of the Year, and her Head Coach Nabil Mardini was named the Coach of the Year. Victor Valley College sophomore libero Taryn Kelley would wrap up the third major award, taking home Libero of the Year honors.

Santa Barbara City College freshman outside hitter Carolyn Andrulis, freshman libero Claire Bagdasar, and Head Coach Ed Over took home the top nods from the Western State Conference North Division. Andrulis was named the Player of the Year, becoming the fifth straight Vaquero to earn the award, Bagdasar was named the WSC North's first ever Libero of the Year, while Gover took home his sixth overall Coach of the Year award and fourth in the last five years.

The Bakersfield College Women’s Volleyball program swept the 2016 Western State Conference South Division Awards after claiming their first championship in seven years and their seventh title all. Player of the Year, Libero of the Year, and Coach of the Year all went to members of the Bakersfield program as sophomore Mackenzie Hernandez, sophomore Hannah Pope, and Head Coach Carl Ferreira were bestowed with the honors.

For the fifth straight year, the Santa Barbara City College Volleyball team claimed the Western State Conference North Division Championship. The Vaqueros did so yet again with an unblemished conference record at 8-0, earning their 13th overall WSC Championship.

The Bakersfield College Women’s Volleyball program claimed the Western State Conference South Division Volleyball Championship in 2016. It was their first WSC divisional title since 2009 and their 7th overall.

Los Angeles Pierce College, which has been a women’s volleyball powerhouse in the Western State Conference for the last two decades, continued it’s strong tradition by winning the inaugural Western State Conference East Division crown. The Brahmas won their WSC leading 15th overall conference title and their second straight after claiming a co-championship in the WSC North last year.

After putting together one of it’s best seasons in it’s program’s storied history, the College of the Canyons Women’s Volleyball program swept the top honors in the WSC South for the third straight year. Freshman outside hitter Emily Bible was named the Player of the Year, while Head Coach Lisa Hooper was named the Coach of the Year, her fifth honor over all and third straight.

Santa Barbara City College’s outside hitter Katelyn Womack was named the WSC North Player of the Year recently, the ninth such player in the school’s history, and the fourth straight Vaquero to earn the award. Her Head Coach Ed Gover meanwhile split the Coach of the Year award with Los Angeles Pierce College’s Nabil Mardini.

Santa Monica College Head Coach Nicole Ryan and College of the Canyons Coach Lisa Hooper split the top Western State Conference South Division Coaching Award recently. In addition, College of the Canyons sophomore outside hitter Serena LeDuff was named the WSC South Player of the Year for the second straight season.

For the third straight season a Santa Barbara City College player has taken home the top individual honor in the Western State Conference North Division. Sophomore setter Madelon Leiphardt was named the WSC North Player of the Year recently. Ventura College’s Brad Lyans was named the Coach of the Year after turning around a struggling program in 2014.

Los Angeles Pierce College and Santa Barbara City College split the 2013 Western State Conference North Division championship this past week. Both schools finished with a 11-1 mark in WSC North play and split their regular season meeting.
